Finally after many days of driving and visiting with friends, we are worn out. The dog did well in our drive up and down the east coast. We are happy to be home again in our sweet little home.
We have missed you. I wanted to make a blog post about our trip, it was fairly uneventful however the long hours of driving just wore me out. I dont even know if I want to get back in my vehicle and drive errands around town.
We got the truck situated and the trailer was hitched, then we started driving Sunday morning, I got tired around the Maryland area, so we spent the night at a hotel in Haggerstown,
Then the next day we drove to NC and attempted to meet up with my friend, I cried because I didnt want to drive anymore. I needed to find a hotel room. So we stayed up the street from my friends house and ate cheese fries for dinner.
The next morning, we heard that there was rain in the forecast so we waited until check out time to leave NC and head south again. I did not want to drive in the dark, so we stopped in Savannah and slept for the night. I am glad we did, because the flat tire would have happened on the road instead of at a hotel parking lot.
The Lrd was and has protected us the whole trip north and back. I prayed a lot before I had to enter and or exit the roads that I needed, I prayed because I made a wrong exit and said Lrd I need a place to turn around, at the top of the hill was a look out point where I could turn around easily, then back down the mountain.
I want PA and VA and NC to know that I hate your hills. So sorry, the air made my head dizzy and the hills scared me to drive over them with the trailer. I just went really slow.
Everyone we met along our trip have been so kind to us and was willing extend a hand if we needed it. I had to only find spots to park the truck and trailer where I could pull through, I do not back up.
I prayed a lot, and we were able to get all the way to GA before we had a complete flat tire. We parked at the hotel and in the morning the tire was completely flat, AAA came and changed the tire out for us and we were on our way again. The last leg of our journey back home.
We like our new home state, when our neighbor came home he backed the trailer up in our back yard, He made it look so easy. He is going to find us some fence for the side yard to hold the dogs in the yard and keep people from walking in our back yard where my trailer is stored.
I guess I will need to get some more locks.
We are in one piece, but I hope I will never ever have to do that again. Boy, did I miss my husbands skills when it came to these things.
We now have our kitchen stuff and my bike. We are two happy girls. I will have to unpack the trailer when I feel better.
Thank you everyone for the prayers of protection and the basically smooth drive north and south, I went slow the huge trucks just zoomed past me. We just kept moving south with the trailer in tow.
*Many hotel rooms, with NCIS all day
*Food eaten in the car, no real meals for days on end
*One flat tire
*One scratch on my truck, yikes
